How Many Endings Does Far Cry 6 Have?
Two Endings in Far Cry 6
There are 2 possible endings for Far Cry 6.
Like other Far Cry games, Far Cry 6 has a secret, or different, ending. However, the choice that is made to unlock this ending is much earlier in the game than fans are used to.
Secret Ending and How to Get
How to Unlock
Unlocking this ending is quite simple but it is very easy to miss.
After the Libertad Rises mission, when Clara gives you a boat, board it and sail towards the edge of the map. After about a minute of sailing, a cutscene will play and the game will be over.
How to get the Secret Ending Guide
What Happens?
During the cutscene, we see a relaxed Dani resting on a beach in Miami. A news broadcast plays over the radio and lets us know that Anton Castillo has defeated the guerrillas and has killed Clara.
Normal Ending and How to Get
How to Unlock
To reach the normal ending of the game, you need to finish all 56 Operations (Main Quests) the game has to offer.
What Happens?
The Lion's Den
In the second-to-last mission of the game, The Lion's Den, Dani invades Anton Castillo's villa, where Clara has been held captive. As Dani finally gains audience with Castillo himself, Juan readies his sniper for the kill. But when Juan targets Diego, Dani reveals his presence, and Anton retaliates by shooting Clara in the head, killing her instantly.
The Battle of Esperanza
With Clara gone, Dani becomes the new leader of Libertad, and the team prepares to take the capital in The Battle of Esperanza.
Dani rallies the troops with a “motivational” speech, and the next morning, preparations for the invasion kick into gear. There's no going back from here.
The Ending
Finally, Dani has a terminally ill Castillo and his son Diego cornered. Anton, fully understanding the situation he is in, shoots his son in the heart then slits his own throat, leaving Yara without a leader.
Surrounded by the leaders of each revolutionary group, Dani is holding the now dead dictator's murdered son. They all want Dani to lead Yara, but Dani refuses and leaves it in the hands of the revolutionary leaders.
We end with Juan and Dani toasting to the guerrilla life. Once a guerrilla, always a guerrilla
. Their fight will never be over.
Why Does Anton Kill Diego?
Although Anton has been raising Diego to replace him for his inevitable death, Anton makes the decision to kill Diego along with himself when Dani has him cornered. Why?
The simple answer is that Anton has seen the results of revolution firsthand. As he mentions numerous times, Diego is the same age he was when his father was killed by the previous revolution. When Dani says she will protect Diego, Anton does not believe her, recalling the tobacco labor camp he was held in and the treatment he received. Rather than continue the cycle once again with his own son, Anton decides to finally end the Castillo legacy by his own hand.
It's also possible to take a more cynical look and to say that as Anton knew that Diego's heart was with the revolutionists, he chooses not to give them the satisfaction of allowing Diego to move to their side. In this outlook, Anton, a true monster, kills his own son simply out of bitterness to those opposing his rule.
Although he is cold, it's likely that Anton sees himself in his son and it's doubtful he would kill him out of spite. Still, no one can truly know the heart of a despot so far gone as Anton Castillo.
